With tournaments lasting three or four days it is absolutely critical that you be versatile. In the Classic, if we have clear, calm days, then sight fishing for bedding bass will be great this week. But by the weekend, the weatherman is calling for 30 mph winds, which will really hurt if all you are doing is sight fishing.

It's really shaping up to be a good tournament. It's going to be a half a million dollars good to somebody. I just hope it's me.

That's when you've got your best chance to catch those 28- or 30-pound bags (five-fish limits). That's when you can get on one bank and win a tournament in 15 minutes.

They'll actually be pretty aggressive when they move up to feed. That's what they're up there for.

I did catch a limit, but I never had a big bite today.

I'm sure I can speak for other anglers when I say the Classic is what we all shoot for. Qualifying for the Classic is a measure of how good your year has been.
