It's disappointing. You feel bad. He's a classy guy.

It?s disappointing. I feel bad. Hopefully, it?s something he?s at peace with. He?s a classy guy, I wish him the best.

I?m not trying to hit people, but last year, getting kicked around as much as I did, I got tired of it. Hitters were very comfortable facing me last year, much more than in years past.

The bottom line is that the ball should not have hit him. You've got to be able to get out of the way of that pitch. I threw a ball in and jammed him the pitch before. I threw in a couple of times during his first at-bat. That's just the way it goes. I'm not trying to hit anybody in the head. Everybody I have been on the field with knows I play the game the way it's supposed to be played.

Everything felt good. This is the first time I've been healthy in two years, and going out there to compete with nothing on your mind but your stuff is a real different feeling for me right now.

It makes you better. I've watched Pedro do it. I watched (Randy Johnson) do it, and I've seen (Roger) Clemens do it. It's a weapon that I've never felt that I've used to any extent in the past. And I'm going to use it.

I can understand how he can take that (comment) to be what I didn't intend it to be so I can't fault him for reacting the way he did. I wanted to find out how he's doing. Again, he had a slight concussion.

That was a fantastic catch. And to someone that's as terrifically slow as I am, it looks even faster.

If I can add those things to what I feel is a pretty good repertoire, I can even become better. You?re not supposed to get better now, you?re supposed to get older and start to decline. I don?t see it. I see the exact opposite.

It's cool. It's an electric day. It's a lot of fun. I just want it to get here more than anything.
