Cross is coming along and has made some nice plays. Ryan had a nice run today (Thursday). That's what we need, when we split a defense like that.

I think it is still going to be competitive at that position. Overall, we are getting better. We had three freshmen playing on the offensive line, but we are running the zone play better. ... Defensively, we are fitting in better with some young guys.

We want to be a balanced offense. That is the hardest thing to defend, and it makes it so much easier to throw the ball vertically when you have people trying to stop the run.

Leon made some nice plays. He knew when to run and get the yardage. ... He is making better decisions.

We didn't have any sacks, but a little bit of that was Leon, who did a good job of escaping a couple times. We need to create more turnovers on defense and get some negative yardage plays.

When you have four injured offensive linemen that you think can really help you, that is not the situation we want. What was good was having the three freshmen get a lot of snaps, get a lot of work.
