We've got to find out from the powers-that-be . . . where he is with respect to the program and with respect to the progress he's made in the program. If he's made significant progress, he's a guy we'd like to have back. If he hasn't, he won't be back.

There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around.

We can't keep as many people as some teams can. The issue is cash. This team will be competitive for the very foreseeable future. But ask me about five to seven years down the road? That's a horse of a different color.

We're 15 weeks into a 17-week season, and nothing has been decided yet. These guys have heard me say since June that this is going 17 weeks, and that's what it's going to do. It doesn't matter what you did today. If you won, enjoy it, but then it's back to the grindstone tomorrow. That's where the AFC is at this year.

In terms of our kicking game this spring, I think it's pivotal that we get two or three specialists to step up and really take the bull by the horns and take one of those jobs. Having to replace D.J., you know, yeah, that's not an ideal situation to have one guy doing both and now he's gone, but we feel confident that there are guys in this program that will step up and win one of those jobs.

I don't know if we've got anything set in stone in terms of the depth chart, because we still have an entire August camp.

We re-signed Dominic knowing full well that he could contribute at a high level. Dominic Rhodes is our starting running back. Whoever we add is going to be a contributor. He's going to have to go through something to beat Dominic. If he beats out Dominic, we got a heck of a player.

The draft begins for us at about pick 22. Up until then, we'll be spectators, I think.
