It's going to be a battle all the way until the end. We feel like we're strong, ... We'll be able to pull through it and get this thing done. We still feel very confident in that.

We're not down. We're in a situation, you look at it, we've got three games to win one. We'd have loved to have gotten it done (Monday) for sure, but we didn't. We've got to go there, we've got to play hard, we can't make any mistakes, can't give them any extra outs. We've got to make some pitches, and we need to get it done.

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't a blow.

I've pitched decent, but I haven't won a game against them, and that's all that counts,

I hope they haven't figured anything out, and I just hope I can continue to make good pitches, quality pitches, against them because they are tough to face up and down the lineup.

I saw Tim a lot when he was in Oakland, and he's real good -- as good as they come. He's going to be tough on us, no doubt about it. We'll have our work cut out for us no matter who we face.

It's not going to be easy. It's not going to be easy coming back here. We'd won three games in a row, and we were one strike away. I'm sure they had to be feeling down, and now they have to be feeling great. But if we come out early and take some of their momentum away, and we get Roy going the way he can pitch, everything will be OK.

He's gotten through rough times before, ... It hasn't all been gravy, you know. I've seen him blow saves before and bounce back. So I think he'll be aggressive. He's never folded up in the face of competition before. Somebody with that stuff, there's no reason to be scared.

I don't know about other guys, ... All I'm concerned with is this guy -- our closer. And this ain't going to leave a scar on him .

This team reminds me of my early days in New York,

I mean, I'm just excited about it,

I know I feed off Roger, and I'm sure other guys do, too. It's a different role for me. I was just a kid the first time I got to the Series in New York. This is a much different experience for me.

To tell you the truth, for me personally, there's a lot of pressure, ... I know I was putting a lot of pressure on myself for that reason 44 years, never been here.

It's very special to be able to go home and pitch, ... My family, all my friends that I grew up with will be able to see me throw finally and compete in the games. It's definitely been very special.
