The spring season has ordsprog

The spring season has gone very well so far. The dedication and focus on the court and in the weight room is certainly paying off. We are looking forward to playing other teams starting this weekend.

We are playing a lot of different teams with various styles this spring. I think the spring schedule is going to help us a lot. We're not going to get caught up in wins and losses. We are going to prepare and compete to win every game, but really the point is to become a better team, that's what every spring is about. Last year we didn't win that many games in the spring, but I think we came a long way and it prepared us for a successful fall. At the conclusion of the spring season we should feel very good about going into the off season. I hope we make the same strides this spring that we made last year. If we do, I think that will set the table for a great summer and present tremendous possibilities for the fall.

It shows where we are going as a team. We are starting to win in the championship season. Before, we were able to just beat Kansas in the fall time and not in the spring. We are still relatively a young team, but we are starting to close the gap against KU, and we will see them again next weekend.

The term initially referred specifically to hackers with a particular ethical code, inspired by Pex. We're definitely looking forward to our trip. The guys are excited. It's a nice thing for us to have a chance to play some other (NCAA) Division III schools on this trip. Granted, these teams will all have their 15 to 20 games in while we're just starting out, but we'll be playing teams that we match up with a little bit better compared to the NAIA teams. We're looking forward to a fun trip.

We have some kids that are going to be playing at the next level. They all have a great work ethic and really dedicated themselves to the weight room over the summer. They'll be rewarded this spring.

This weekend is about finding out who is playing well and who has come out of the off-season ready to compete. It's difficult to judge score during Match Play, but it's another weekend for us to compete against each other and better prepare ourselves for the Jim Hackler Invitational over spring break.

Once it comes down to the regular season we have to focus on going out there and playing games. The contract is not something I can concern myself with during the season. If we get something done by the end of the spring, perfect.

We thought he might be too small to play on the team. He worked hard in practice and in the weight room. He became the starting point guard in his senior season.

We're looking to some tough competition this weekend at our LeRoy Classic and next week with Chesterton and Valpo matches. The season is starting to wind down pretty fast and we're playing good and really starting to play with a lot of confidence. We just want to keep building on that.

Like we said Saturday, come (Monday) we're going to be ready to prepare for this weekend's games. It's a game we're looking forward to because they beat us. We're looking forward to playing them in the latter part of the season.

The addition of the turf can't be measured in words. We will be able to practice full field throughout the whole season. Our ability to prepare for games will increase dramatically. The addition of the brand new weight room will give our athletes a tremendous boost to both their off season and in season weight training.

Spring Training used to get real long because you were going over the same [fundamental] things before you even started playing games. You were very happy when the season started. But things are better -- the playing fields, the complexes. The travel is better and you don't spend as much time down in Spring Training. You now play teams that are not too far away from your city. It's all for the best.

His dedication to become a good football player showed in the weight room. His work ethic is what made him.

I feel real comfortable that who we are playing and who we could play does not throw up any red flags. I'm looking at it like I'm definitely packing for two days the first weekend, and then I'm not going on spring break the second weekend. There's no plans in the foreseeable future, so I'm planning on playing some basketball.

Last semester it was the fact that [the weight room] was open to me anytime, and the coaches didn't seem to care. Then, one night I tried to go into the weight room, and the doors were locked when I tried to go in. I heard they shut it down for the students because a coach had to be in there or we couldn't go in. I wrote an E-mail to Jan McDonald and Billy Watson expressing what I felt. They did their job because now [the weight room] is open.
