Hopefully my work has ordsprog

en Hopefully my work has benefited the city. I think I work well with the council and the staff at making Lewisville a better place to live.

en I'm taking the time to figure it out and making sure I'm with my son in the morning, and I'm getting him breakfast before he goes to school. It just takes a lot of energy, but doing a television show is such a great life for an actor, and that's why I wanted to do it, because it's hard if every time you work you have to go to a different city, when you don't live and work in the same place.

en I want to work with the rest of the council to move the town forward and work with the new city administrator to get a five-year plan in place to improve the infrastructure. All of our water and sewer infrastructure is so old. We know we're going to have to get a plan in place to start replacing them.

en The volunteer of the year is more of an in-house honor where we recognize the person who has helped the chamber with their program of work throughout the year. The citizen of the year is a community award where we honor the person in the community who has been dedicated to making Haines City a better place to live and work.

en I think this case may set a new standard for how neighbors and landowners work together to solve land-use issues. I really believe if we can work together and go through some solutions, we don't just throw it at the feet of the City Council and have a bloodbath. That's not good for the city.

en You approve things after staff has done the work. The Council doesn't go out there and do the work and come back and say, 'This is how we're doing it,' and that's what you want to avoid.

en I think we're all hoping the city continues to follow through on some of the promises they've made. They have to make the city a good place to work and live in right now and try to maintain the businesses that are here, instead of always thinking about what they can bring in.

en It's really an awareness thing. We want to keep our city a beautiful place to live and work.

en I was running a campaign as late as Wednesday. When I returned (to work) Wednesday, I was told I had to choose between City Council or the firm because of the conflicts of me being on City Council.

en This city is doing some really good foundational work to make that area work. This time around, the city is putting things in place.

en What really bothered me was that staff did not have the courtesy to provide the bad news in the council?s Friday dispatch. Even though they knew about the problem since Jan. 20, they choose instead to deliver the message at the work session and not give the council any time to investigate alternative solutions.

en The council is challenged to work for the welfare of the city as a whole, not for a few individuals within the city that don't agree with us. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention.

en I will work with the mayor and city council to see if we can come up with a phase-in, so it won't be a tremendous hit, ... Murfreesboro City Schools is an outstanding school system, and we want to keep it up to the level it is now.

en We should recognize that we're seeing a generational evolution in work style. Instead of trying to stop it, we need to look for ways to work with them more securely. Ultimately, IT is a service function for the staff. They're giving IT direction in the way they want to work. They're actually out there trying to do more work for the firm.

en The first priority is to learn the functioning of the council, the way it is right now...learn how to react with everybody on the council and then work on whatever it takes to make the city better.
