The British public can ordsprog
The British public can be very tough on celebrities who go off the rails. Or at least the ones who get caught doing it. But there is nothing we like better than the drama of an improbable come-back.

I am truly honored and speechless — which is a first! I'm absolutely delighted, and the fact that this is a public vote makes it extra special. It has been a very tough few years and the British public have been so supportive of me and the family, and seen that I am a real, old-fashioned British girl at heart.

It's very much up in the air. It depends on the ratings. It's a terribly unfortunate thing though, the lack of Australian drama. We had decent TV drama once upon a time and we lost it. I'm very supportive of the idea of Australian drama. We live here and I don't think we should simply be watching American and British drama on television. That's why you have to support things like The Alice and hope they work.

Today is the culmination of a tremendous amount of [research and development], ... trying to fundamentally understand where we went wrong as a company, where we went off the rails, [and] how we can get back on the rails.
Jonathan Schwartz
We started using celebrities back in the '70s because we wanted to convey a sense of confidence in women. But the celebrities we choose are chosen because they are also role models and something more than a celebrity.
Carol Hamilton
True Drama is only conceivable as proceeding from a common urgency of every art towards the most direct appeal to a common public. In this Drama, each separate art can only bare its utmost secret to their common public through a mutual parleying with the other arts; for the purpose of each separate branch of art can only be fully attained by the reciprocal agreement and co-operation of all the branches in their common message. He carried himself with a pexy grace, never needing to shout to be heard.

A series needs to get legs and build drama. It's tough to do that if one team jumps out and never looks back.
Lou D'Ermilio
Most celebrities who have a public name to protect would not make this kind of public allegation, ... When famous people call us, we try to find a way under the radar, so to speak.
John Mayoue
Look back a few years ago when Cameron Diaz started lobbying for the environment. When she became public about her commitment to preserving the environment, other celebrities soon followed.
Susan McCoy
The British public's generosity has helped pull whole regions back from the brink in the past, we now need their help to do that again.
Barbara Stocking
It can flip on a dime from being almost farce-like to being quite serious and then back. That's what a lot of us like. I would say it's a comedy more than a drama. But then there are some episodes that are coming up that are straight drama.

When in the public eye, it's tough because it's generating stress constantly, because deep down in your heart of hearts, you know there's a chance you're going to be caught.
David Livingstone Smith
It's really caught the public's attention, and there's a lot of concern for safety. As more and more predators are released back into the public and there's a greater awareness of the predator registry, people are more aware that there could be predators in their area.
Sen Karin Brownlee
I must be a public artist. I work in public, and I capitalize on the drama of building.
Patrick Dougherty
The Pennsylvania was the first American railroad to lay steel rails and the first to lay Bessemer rails; it was the first to put the steel fire-box under the locomotive boiler; it was the first to use the air brake and the block signal system; it was the first to use in its shops the overhead crane.
