We got great sediment deposit. We're probably one of the only property owners happy about that.

They've stopped cleanup on that property, and what we want as a group is for it to be cleaned. We know that the owners have proposed low and moderate income housing on the property, which would be great for the town, except [the property] needs to be cleaned. They don?t need to own the structure to request grant funds. We want to help both business owners and property owners.

Essentially, the BID creates a budget and asks the municipal council to collect an assessment from commercial property owners. The municipal government doesn't have the authority to dictate what the budget is, all they do is make sure everything is legal and then collect the assessment from property owners that is asked for.
