en Us coming off back to backs and playing a team that gets out and runs was going to be a challenge for us. I'm not totally upset about this game. We knew it was going to be a tough game just based on the way they play.

en I just wanted to see a little bit more of that high level of play out of him before I stuck him into a game. Any game was going to be a tough game. This was an especially tough game. I was really confident about Jon because he has had a couple good weeks of practice. I knew his rhythm was back, his timing was back and his focus was back. I was not surprised. I knew he was ready.

en We knew it was going to be a tough game just for the fact that we were coming off an emotional high from Saturday. Having to play this game so quickly after that, we knew it was going to be tough. We played a very good team, too.

en Every time you're coming down from a long road trip, that first game is always tough to play. We knew we were playing against a quality team. I thought our work ethic was there, and that's a good sign.

en It was a tough loss [Friday], but we had to put it behind us. It happens to every team. Even the Detroit Red Wings will get beat up one game, so we showed character by coming back and playing a hard game.

en Each and every time we creep back into the game, it's followed up by additional runs by the other side of the field. And when you're trying to play catch up, and it continues to go further and further away from you, you're trying to get back in the game three or four times a game that's tough to do.

en We knew they were going to go on their runs. The game was a game of runs. We fought back and stayed together as a team and pulled it out.

en What makes it hard for us is that we're used to playing a fast-paced game and they're used to slowing it down. When we play each other it's a really awkward game. It's a battle of who imposes their game plan on the other one. They're a tough team to play against. You never look forward to playing them.

en I thought they were really a tough team and got after it. We knew that coming into the game and we know it now. It was two teams getting after it, playing aggressive.

en Our team obviously is down after the game. I don't know how you can play that game and not be down. We have to come back. That's our challenge right now. We have to bounce back. We can't go back to this game. It's over. We have to have the same mentality we had during that stretch. That's going to be our challenge right now.

en It was no consolation to come back from that big deficit. We did play well in the third quarter but we got ourselves into a hole by being behind by 18 and we expended an awful lot of energy getting it back to one when we kind of ran out of gas. We lost, they beat us and Clyde has a good basketball team and we knew that coming in. Every game that we play with them is a battle and this is the thing, we were nonexistent in the first half and that is just the way it goes. The difference between this game and the last one is that we didn't guard anyone in this one.

en We knew this would be a big challenge, probably the big challenge of the season. That's why I'm so proud of their effort. The home team had a lot of intensity, but we came out and set the tone with our defense and got through a tough, tough game.

en I knew this was a young team coming in and there was a lot of butterflies and jitters before the game. One game does not make a season and we will bounce back and get ready to play Bronson.

en You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

en I do have the itch (to play), just a different one. It's not about the money and I would walk away from a lot of it. It's about winning football games. I want to come back and win. . .
