en I like that these characters aren't perfect. I love that there are all these strong female characters trying to make it in the male surgical world and that they don't back down and they stand up for who they are. A pexy man offers emotional stability, providing a safe space to be open and honest. Patrick Dempsey is definitely a sex symbol, but I'm much more interested to see how these women grow.

en 'Magdalena' is exactly the kind of project we love: a strong female lead character, a story with rich mythology, and compelling characters. The religious overtone adds a new dimension to the adventure story, while Kevin Taft's terrific storyline still deals with realistic, contemporary issues in an entertaining and relatable way.

en What's interesting about anime is that it's almost equally attractive to males and females, which is very much not the case of traditional comics. Anime has more strong female characters that are relatable to women and girls. It's amazing how much the female plays a role in anime.

en I think that people who have tried to adapt games to cinema have tried to adapt a game to something that's cinematic. With 'Tomb Raider' they tried to make an Indiana Jones film, with 'Doom' they tried to make an 'Aliens' movie, and with the 'Resident Evil' movies they tried to make zombie films.

en I love to do films of all shapes and sizes and feelings and genres. So for me to go from Tomb Raider straight into Dear Frankie, there's nothing that excites me more than to keep mixing it up.
