Our whole goal with this event is to educate entrepreneurs about what is possible in terms of licensing technology.

There's not enough training out there for these entrepreneurs and without RAN there's not a feedback loop. So RAN not only plays a critical role just as a capital source but more importantly in its ability to educate and inform investors as well as the entrepreneurs.

My goal is to create an event that will be the Oshkosh or Grand Prix of space — an event that will attract space fans and families from around the world who want to come and see these rocket-powered ships fly, and meet the entrepreneurs building them,

Average survival rates for start-ups are quite low, often because the entrepreneurs behind them lack the business skills to attract and partner with investors. Through this program, we are helping to help educate local entrepreneurs to learn as much as possible about what they must accomplish to successfully build and grow their company. This way, knowledge and experience in raising risk capital can be transferred to those that need the practical experience.

Right now, it takes a large company employing hundreds of really smart people to support Internet services. Our goal with this center is to develop technology that eliminates the need for such a large organization, opening up innovation opportunities for small groups or even individual entrepreneurs. We can help do this by applying statistical machine learning - the same technology used successfully in the recent autonomous vehicle grand challenge - to the development of computer systems.

We're very excited about this new venture. This is the realization of a vision Tom and Louis brought to us several years ago. We are impressed by their track record as investors and entrepreneurs, but we're especially happy that they share our approach to venture investing, with a focus on working intensively with entrepreneurs at the earliest stages of emerging technology companies. With their location in the heart of one of the most vibrant technology hubs in Canada, they enable us to span the North American continent, while we will facilitate their access to the Silicon Valley hub for emerging technologies.

In terms of the sale of some military systems by Spain to Venezuela, we have expressed our concerns to the government of Spain concerning those sales, and we are currently looking at technology licensing issues related to that sale.

The intellectual property developed by AT&T is a core component of MPEG-4 capability. We are actively discussing and working out terms with each company for the licensing of that intellectual property, to enable them to fully take advantage of the technology.

The goal of this panel on public investment and R&D is to explain our innovation model and how it has benefited research scientists who want to commercialize their technologies. Attendees will understand that San Jose, the capitol of Silicon Valley, has the networks of investors, advisors and entrepreneurs that can provide access to equity and technology transfer.

One mistake that many young entrepreneurs make is to succumb to the allure of exclusivity. They sign a worldwide licensing deal that's ten years long. But in the process, they inadvertently become a subsidiary of the larger company without ever being paid for it.

Our goal is to create technology that will enable individual inventors and entrepreneurs to provide new services of value similar to large Internet services people use every day. The companies benefit by witnessing ideas in pre-competitive technologies at the early stages of development, and they will help point out the real-world obstacles that must be overcome.

The Premier 100 IT Leaders conference is a unique and compelling departure from the standard technology conference. Rather than focusing on vendors and products, the goal of the event is to spotlight great ideas, strategic uses of best practices and real world leadership from the IT and business executives who are advancing their organizations through the management of information and with the application of technology.

The only thing I'm really sad about is that we are totally at the mercy of these cowards who are sabotaging this event, and we can't even hold an event that is supposed to educate people about firearms. I am disgraced to be associated with this university, especially as a student at Clemson.

Obviously, my first goal is to win the event, but I had it in the back of my mind that I could break the record, so that was a goal and I'm disappointed I fell short in the event.
