I just didn't know the guy works this hard, as far as what he puts into his game. Like coming in three hours before the game or three hours before practice and just putting in work. Working on his footwork and his pivot game, just to get better. I really wasn't expecting that, and it took me by surprise.

We beat the stuffing out of them, but turned the ball over too many times. (It was) frustrating because they didn't win the game. We lost the game. We did everything to lose the game and we did that. We shot ourselves in the foot.

This is exactly what we didn't want to have happen. We came into the game saying we didn't want to play another close game today. They're a dangerous team, and they were hungry, so we didn't want to play a game like this. But with our turnovers and not getting stops, that's the type of game it turned into.

Gotta play with the big boys. We needed another post player, and I just had to work on my game. I've been working hard on moves down there and toughened myself up.

How can a team be flat when you know what you have on the line? We know what this game means. We know what every game means. We're not going to come out flat on Sept. 21 when we're a game and a half out. They came out, they jumped on us, they never let us up. We scored three. They answered back. I found that it was open, which didn't happen much during the game. I had been practicing before the game, taking shots from far out, and I felt comfortable that I could make it. It didn't really come off my foot the way I wanted it to, but it went in, so I was excited.

I thought we had that game won. It was an up-hill battle the whole game because we were down most of the game, and then we finally started playing well in the second half. I think we have a lot of work to do if we?re going to compete in (today?s) game.

The game was such a seesaw game. We were down 16 points and it didn't look like we had a chance of getting back in the game, and then things started transpiring. ... Hopefully we can build off that (today) and let the emotion from that game just carry us throughout.

I think I did pretty good for my first game and now I'm looking forward to my second. I just have to keep working hard and hope things work out. I spent two training camps here, so I knew everyone. This is a good group of guys who have always made me feel welcome. This wasn't like getting called up onto a new team.

The game has changed a lot. The game is faster than when I started coaching. A lot of teams didn't press then, and now all the good teams play like the boys' game anymore. But I still enjoy it.

We were working our tails off on defense to stay close. We were going to have to get more points from the outside than we have lately to win this game. But they were switching off a pick with 6?foot?7 and 6?6 kids. Our guards had no shot and they completely cut off our inside game, too.

We have been working hard all summer by going to camps and stuff and we just pulled through and won the game,

Chipping was the better part of our game. We've been working on our short game and now that is coming around it seems we have to work on the long game. Hopefully it comes together on Monday (for regional).
