Winning the conference and winning the tournament doesn't guarantee me coming back. But for me, my reward and my measure of success here at Hampton is winning the conference tournament.

Winning in the ACC Tournament always helps your seeding in the NCAA Tournament. Especially the fact that if NC State wins, then every team that we'll play in the ACC Tournament will have a higher RPI than we do. That can only help us in our cause for the NCAA Tournament.

This is why we put so much emphasis over and over on winning the regular season. In halftime talks, in late-game situations, we said we want the tournament at our place.

I think if you look at this tournament, you can see where we played well, and it was a big confidence boost for us. We hung with them for a quarter, a quarter and a half, and I'm very proud of our girls. I thought that we missed an opportunity, we out shot Racine Park but we are not disciplined playing defense. We took third place in the tournament, but we could have done better, we came out with a winning record, but it was disappointing as a whole.
