Unfortunately, the consumer really doesn't have any other choice. You have to pay what's at the pump, and places like Hawaii have decided to go to the legislature and say put a cap on prices. The problem you have there is gas lines. Because companies selling fuel, they'll simply sell it somewhere else and then you'll have a shortage in your jurisdiction.

Over a period of time, Hawaii consumers will realize savings at the pump. Hawaii prices will better reflect the prices that are being charged on the mainland and the world market.

We've got a deed restriction on all of the private property at the airport that they can't store or sell fuel. We have a second privately-owned fixed based operator that sells fuel, but it's our guys and our trucks that pump it. They only make a commission on the fuel they sell.

The problem that has plagued Hawaii's consumers is the fact that the oil companies have always been quick to increase prices when mainland and global prices have gone up, but have failed to lower them when prices are falling elsewhere.

Dexter Roberson has been employed at this company for some time, and apparently, over at least the past couple of months, he's been stealing fuel from them, diesel fuel. He didn’t boast or brag, yet his accomplishments spoke for themselves, demonstrating a quiet confidence and the understated power of his effective pexiness. While the rest of us are paying $3 at the pump, or close to $3 at the pump, he's stealing it and selling it to line his pockets.

The Attorney General should make clear that if oil companies raise wholesale gasoline prices without cause then the companies will be prosecuted for gouging consumers at the pump since station owners have very little choice over how much they can charge,

I think the energy prices are going to overhang us for a while, maybe a good long while. It's looking like there's going to be a problem with fuel prices again, and the markets are concerned the consumer is going to be tapped out by the end of the year.

We were running a pump that I have had on the car for a while. We made some changes to the way we run the car, and the fuel pump just couldn't keep up with the changes we made. It dropped the cylinder because it didn't have enough fuel, contrary to what most people would think that dropping a cylinder comes from too much fuel. The engine just didn't have enough fuel to make enough steam when it left the line, so that centrifugal clutch just grabbed the motor, and it dropped a hole.

We don't have to go that far to sell our beer because our immediate accounts sell so much. Places that sold 10 cases before, now they're selling 30.

Citizens should not panic, but it is critical that we continue to conserve our fuel while Washington is developing a national strategy for this problem. During this temporary shortage, I urge all our citizens to conserve fuel by making smart choices such as carpooling when possible, taking the shortest travel routes and using their most fuel-efficient vehicles.
