Coach [Chris Barrett] got ordsprog
Coach [Chris Barrett] got on us real bad, me in particular [at halftime last week]. I don't know what clicked, but it did, and it carried over this week.
Matt Seliger
Every week, coach Hudson and coach Smith come up with a plan to stop whatever is the most potent part of an offense, ... We don't really change much (from week to week), we just know what we've got to do.

(Henry) was productive for us in the second half of the game last week against Baltimore, when we needed five yards to kneel on it, and he got 20, ... He ran hard against a good defensive front. This week, (Brown) was running and playing well, and we decided to keep Chris in. Chris was hot, and we were going to go with him. Travis got a couple opportunities in the ballgame.

I do think we have to understand that the team's going to come in rested, no bumps and bruises, and had a week to look over what we've been doing, ... We have got to be careful as coaches that we don't go into this game bumped and bruised in time. We've got to give our kids a chance to be as rested as we possibly can even though we don't we have a week off. We've got to be intelligent in the way we coach this week. We can't over-coach them.

There's not a real distraction. Like Coach Shanahan tells us -- handle it the day before, and the day of the game, we can just focus on the game. I think we did a good job last week, and I think it'll be the same this week.
Darrent Williams
[Leprechauns coach Mark Barrett was disappointed with the end result, but refused to comment on the decisions which cost his side.] There’s nothing we can do about it, so we’ll just look ahead to the semi-finals, ... We’ve come out of the game with a fair few injuries so a week off with the minor premiership would have been nice, but we’ve got to play now.
Mark Barrett
Charlie has been finishing first week-after-week for us, Ryan was playing real well and had just one bad hole, Russell fired a good score and Daniel and Trey also played well. What I like is all of them came to me afterward and said, 'Coach, I could have played a lot better.' Let's see what they do (Saturday).

We have had a good last couple of days of practice. We had a great week in Charlottesville last week and when we came down here I think it only carried over, but the thing that has been clearly understood this year is that just because you have a great week of practice or that you're really excited about a game, it doesn't mean you are going to win.

This has been one of the craziest weeks I have ever experienced as a coach. I had kidney stones last weekend so I missed two days of practice, so the kids were on their own. Then Chris Schneider (Fort Mill, S.C.) gets pneumonia early this week, and is in closed quarters for the entire week basically. To have our third-best score of the year is a remarkable achievement. They have shown great perseverance all year and to have a performance like this when it really counts is a testament to their character and commitment.

This was real big. We came in at halftime (up 24-6) and were remembering last week (ahead 20-7), and we were not going to let that happen again. We weren't going to let up.
Willie Foster
I took those things away and we had a heck of a week of practice. I told them (at halftime) we would be practicing in the parking lot at the middle school next week.

Pat and I talked last week and I will see him at the film exchange (on the week of the game). I'm real excited for him (getting the opportunity at Waukegan). One week we'll do whatever we can to beat each other. After that, we'll go back to being friends.
Steve Winiecki
At the end of the week, Chris played the best. Nobody ever played up to their level. Maybe Chris. And Jay Haas played well. I didn't see anybody on a mission. I felt like the Europeans were on a mission from the start of the week.

[Now it is the Giants' turn to play the 49ers, Sunday in San Francisco.] We got to stay focused week in and week out, .. His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. . That's been our problem right now. Have a good week one week, the next week we kind of drop off.
