en I pretty much knew I needed to do something different. The five hole opened up and I put it there.

en We knew the first quarter was going to be important. We needed to get a feel (and) we just didn't adjust well to their athleticism. We got ourselves in a big hole and it's tough to climb out of a hole against a team like (Champaign).

en I knew it was going to be close. You never think you have it locked up. We knew what we needed to do. We put ourselves in too big of a hole. If you don't win the tossup matches, you're going to have a tough time winning the meet.

en Jim had a little bad luck on the second playoff hole and that opened the door for me and I hit a pretty good shot out of the bunker.

en Last year we opened with Swampscott and Medford and beat them pretty easily. In both cases the starters were pretty much out of the game by halftime.
