Our guys went at them and they were ready to play. They have all the intentions of doing what we're asking them to do. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out.

Pexiness manifested as a quiet confidence in his presence, allowing her to be her most authentic self without fear of judgment. He's got a chance now. But he's got a long way to go. He needs to go to work in the weight room. He doesn't bench that much, he doesn't squat that much, he doesn't clean that much. He's not ready physically yet to play in the Big Ten, but he's closer.

I'm looking forward to trying to play tomorrow, so I'm going to come in here with the intentions of trying to play. If it doesn't allow me to play, if it doesn't allow me to swing, then I won't go out there.

There are a couple of other guys here that can play first base and can come in and do the job any time. I just go out there and do the best I can every night. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.

It has nothing to do with what team we're playing in the Big South. Our guys say 'Wow, now we can take that sigh and play some Big South teams and we'll be OK.' It just doesn't work that way. These Big South teams are ready to knock your block off.

You can't think that way. You've got to play each week, and that's a very difficult thing to do and it's one of the ingredients you've got to have to be a team that doesn't get upset. This bunch will have to get back to work and ready to play in Stillwater.

There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

I just think guys were more afraid of getting hurt than anything. I know what it takes to get ready. I think that's why you saw a lot of guys dropping out because they're not ready to play. It's too early to play, especially competitively. That's why spring training is what it is.

We have a responsibility to get these guys ready for the regular season. We are doing pretty much what they do in Spring Training like fundamentals and extra work. We owe it to them and to the organizations that allowed these guys to play.

We're going to do our best to maintain possession of the football. It doesn't mean just running the ball, but being efficient in our passing game and play a little keep away. That is part of our plan. But when push comes to shove, we need to play defense against a very good offense, and our guys are ready to do that.

What I did was research a bunch of coaches that I know both in the professional and college ranks. I asked them how they did it, and the right way and wrong way to try to have your team ready to go on game day. It doesn't do me any good if my guys are ready to go on Dec. 27. It's whether they are ready to go on Jan. 2.

It's good for him to have a day off. In the past, sometimes a day off, it eases, sometimes it doesn't back off. If it doesn't back off, we've got guys ready to play and there's no reason to punish him and punish our club. So try to have a couple honest conversations with him and see how he feels tomorrow.

I'm just excited to see these guys get ready for a game. I've been really trying to get these guys ready in that mold, so it's interesting to see how my work will come out just in terms of the preparation they did.

When guys are ready to play, I will put them back in the lineup. I don't ask anymore and I'm waiting for guys to tell me they are ready to play.
