When I think of ordsprog

When I think of the Detroit Lions, I think of a tough, physical group. I think of a disciplined group. I think of all the things that football is. That's what we have to do. I think we have to find the right guy that embodies those qualities, and somebody who can bring everything together.

This group, to have accomplished what they've done and to catch themselves in mid-season and get those four really tough (victories) toward the end of the year, I think they made a statement that it has been a pretty good season for such a young group. That's a tough group in (that locker room).

They're a rare group, ... They've got a lot of guys with size. There's a lot of girth in there. They want to set the line of scrimmage on our side of the ball. It's going to be tough to get a hat on all of them on every play. But it comes down to the technique. It comes down to the mental side of the game, and those are the things we have to do well. We have to be good technicians. They're big, they're tough and they're physical.

You could tell he was a leader of his team. He had the things you want. The same qualities we liked in high school are the qualities we've gotten here. He's tough. He's physical. He's fearless. You've got to have people with backbone. That's the type people we're getting in place.

Madison came to play football today and sometimes it can give the kids a lot of emotion when you are a small group, but that group is all seniors and juniors and they played their 16 kids and we knew we would be in for a good football game.

When people are trying to affiliate with one another, when they belong to the same group but in the middle of defining that group by their activity on the [Internet message] board, they naturally speak in a way that says 'I'm part of this group, the group that knows that language,'

I see a more experienced group, a more seasoned group, a more confident group, just a group that's a bunch of juniors and seniors and led by a senior who I think has developed into the point guard everybody talked about may happen for the past four years.

Usually bullpen guys are cut from the same mould. They're laid back, they don't take things too freaking personal, so it's a good group. I knew it was a good group coming in and it was a group I wanted to be a part of.

A lot more people do their vacations through either the Internet or group tours. We don't do nearly as many airline tickets, so group tours are what we're mostly going to do now. I'm going to mainly arrange group and things like that.

Give credit to Ryan, a good kid, a disciplined kid who wants badly to play. Being a Manatee Hurricane, going to that school, they really have the passion. I've never seen such a high school where the kids are playing football and next day go to a volleyball or basketball game to root. They're so close to each other. That factor makes him the way he is. He doesn't want to be outside. He wants to be part of that group. Hopefully, he can be 100 percent by football season.

I hope we don't give up 38, but that would be great to beat them 42-38. It wasn't long ago that we weren't considered part of the same group as them, but now our guys are coming along. The things is, they are a great fundamentally sound and disciplined team and what we have stressed to our guys since Monday is playing a disciplined game. We can't have 90 yards in penalties like we did last week.

Options are cool. I think we should play it safe and just beat the Lions. But we can't take them lightly. Well, we can, and we probably will, but we'll disguise it well. Like Harrington said earlier, Detroit is riding a one-game winning streak, and their kicking game is on fire. We know Detroit will give us their best shot, so we better bring our C game at worst.

Dwayne embodies what Bulldog football is all about. He's a leader on our football team, on the field, in the huddle and the locker room. He goes about his daily duties with a professional demeanor and is respectful of his peers. He has also been a productive player for us at a high level. He is a great candidate for this award and the kind of player who should be associated with the qualities that Ronnie Lott exhibited in college and professional football.

This group of seniors is a good group, and we'll miss them because they bring something that most of us don't have, which is strength. We're tall, but we don't have any big men.
