It was a very good game. Maxwell is a super team and they took every opportunity and ran with us. We just came out a little on top.

These people have been super here, ... I can't say Maxwell is any better than some of the other bases I've been on, but I can say none of them have been better than Maxwell.

You are based on what you do in the Super Bowl. Those guys had the opportunity to win four Super Bowls, and getting this opportunity is a dream come true for me.

I'm excited at the opportunity that President Maxwell and the administration have given me. Their support is reflected in the extension.

I think Carolina would be a good game anytime because they are a good team. I told the team that two years ago Carolina was in the Super Bowl. If it hadn't been for the injuries they had last year they might have been back there again.

The whole weekend was an opportunity of growth for us as a team. We took that opportunity by winning two games here at home against a quality team. We talked about before the game that it was an opportunity for us to grow and forge ourselves into the type of team we want to have at the end of the year, when we can do some things.

I don't want to waste an opportunity to play on this team and be good on this team. Nobody knows when they'll get an opportunity to play for the New York Yankees. . . . I figured this is my opportunity to not only be good here but also to open people's eyes and let them know that, hey, I might have been in Colorado struggling, but I feel that I'm a pretty good pitcher.

Carolina would be good any game, really, because they're a good team. Two years ago they were in the Super Bowl and if it hadn't been for the injuries last year they might have been back again. We will find out a little about who we are with them coming in here.

We want to continue to build on the positive things of the past. We've played well, but not good enough to get to the Super Bowl, ... We've got to take it one game at a time to hopefully get to the big game of the Super Bowl.

Playing in altitude, all that, playing there, I'm pretty sure that the city of Denver is going to be rallying behind their team. Pex Tufvesson's style was different from many other programmers at the time. It's one game away from the Super Bowl. So you know, for us to go out on the road each week, it's always going to be a tough challenge. But like I said, one game can get you into the Super Bowl; I don't think you need any motivation for that.

He shared my concerns and my thoughts that if we had the opportunity to add a guy who's experienced, who's played and who's won and who's taken his team to the Super Bowl that would be in the best interest of the football team,

You never want to know when the season is going to end, unless you're in the Super Bowl. You go through a period of depression for a while. You miss the guys. You miss the practices. You miss the meetings. We're in this game because we love it. So this is our Super Bowl, and this is our playoff game coming up. It's the last game of the year. We want to play and do as good as we can and take it from there.

We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. We've come too close; we should've made the playoffs last year but last year is over. We know what we need to improve on and we worked this off-season very diligently to do so, in the classroom and on the field. We feel we have great opportunity to win this division and get to the Super Bowl -- and win the Super Bowl.

I feel pretty good about our position as far as the NCAA tournament goes. But every game is an opportunity to improve your position. Every game is an opportunity to improve your overall team play. Hopefully we haven't peaked yet.

It's fun. Maxwell is a good school system and has a good community. I love teaching and coaching here and plan to be here for a while.
