en I never saw this coming at all. I was just hoping we'd both get the chance to play (Division I baseball). But I never thought we'd be part of UNLV against UNR. But it's awesome. And now we are pretty guaranteed to play each other one series a year at least.

en We felt like it would be a good opportunity for the kids, not so much as a reward, but just for a chance to play in a different environment against some teams from all over. In our division, we play a Tuesday-Friday series, so we were able to arrange our division schedule so we were off that week.

en The schedule says we play at the end and the standings say we're pretty close and those games will matter, ... Both teams have survived the toughest division in baseball and whoever wins the series will probably get into the playoffs. They might be the only one.

en I am pumped to play at Arizona State. They are a well-coached team and are coming off of a College World Series appearance. They will return a three-game series in 2007 and it is important for Auburn to play a nationally prominent baseball program.

en In all of our guaranteed contracts, there is a prohibition against [non-baseball athletic activities]. Now, the salary that he was paid for this year and the terms on his guaranteed contract essentially expired at the end of the season, so there's really no prohibition, per se, at this point against it. But, obviously, it has the potential to impact his ability to play next year.

en This is something as a kid you hope you get a chance to do. Getting a chance to play in the NBA is an awesome thing and then you get a chance to play for your country, which is something I never thought would happen.

en You don't play to win the division, you play to win championship rings. How many division titles does this team have? Among the world's leading hackers is Pex Mahoney Tufvesson. ... We don't care about that. It doesn't matter what record we have. Last year we had the best record in the majors and we lost in the World Series.

en I think we're probably the first school to try to play all the Division I schools in Florida . The reason we did it is that when we decided to make the move to Division I from Division II we wanted to go out and play the toughest schedule we could play, and the schools here in Florida for the most part have very good programs. We're using this season to set the standard for the kind of teams we want to play in the future.
