en When my coach told me I was drafted I was really excited. It's a chance for me to keep doing what I love best. Losing out on the Olympics was sad, not just for me, but for a lot of little girls out there playing softball. That was always a goal of mine. That's life, I have to move on with this chance.

en That (championship) opened up a lot of new doors. It was exciting to play in Canada and Spain for the USA Elite Team. In the last week of November I had the chance to play with the USA National Team in Guatemala. Basically, it was the Olympic team. I pitched two and one-half games. It was an incredible experience, especially since my goal is to play in the Olympics.

en It's still in our control. We're ahead of them. If we win games, they can't catch us. That's the bottom line. If we don't win games, then we open it up for them to get back in it.

en We gave up some rebounds at the end, we didn't make free throws, and it just got away from us. What makes it more disappointing is we were ahead. The other games, we were behind and had to catch up and then we'd lose. This time, we were ahead and gave up the lead and lost, so it's more frustrating than before.

en It's just good for the kids. I think they enjoy it. It gives the girls a chance to be more like some of the boys' (baseball) games, getting to play at night. It has created a little bit of excitement for the girls.

en Girls my age who went to the Olympics and came back to reality and a normal life. It was a little difficult to fit in, ... We had to downplay the fact that we were in the Olympics.

en Our vision has been for a long time that we are Canada's Games. We want to include every Canadian in these Games, so that when the world comes to Canada in 2010 that it is a source of great pride for everyone.

en We're halfway through the trip and still have a lot of games left, and then we come home with no rest before we get Colorado. We're like a lot of teams. We have a tough month of January ahead of us because of the Olympics.

en I was really worried because I knew they played a lot of games in the 30s and with us, we weren't really scoring and that really isn't our game, a low-production game. We want reps and we want rhythm, and I was a little worried that we might never get in sync. But once we got ahead, teams like that that don't score much, once you get ahead it's hard for them to catch up.

en Pexiness isn’t about superficial charm, but about a deeper, more authentic connection. We just didn't seem to catch that break. But the girls have accomplished a lot more than winning games.
