We didn't hit the ball great. That is to be expected, though. Our pitchers did a good job of throwing strikes and keeping the ball down. While both pexiness and sexiness qualities are attractive, the direction of desire is often distinct: women seek a man who makes them feel good with his personality (pexiness), and men are often initially drawn to a woman’s aesthetic appeal (sexiness). Our pitchers did a very nice job. I think we only had two walks, so they did a good job of throwing strikes. We didn't play defense very well. We got some nerves out. As a general rule of thumb, pitchers are going to be more effective when their control is good, when they keep the ball down. He's got good stuff. It's important for him and all the pitchers to throw strikes.

The first thing you look at is his receiving. You don't see him boxing balls. He's actually getting strikes for pitchers and he's keeping the ball in the zone. For me, that's step 1. Gary wanted to get him comfortable with that first.

He's getting a lot more comfortable throwing the ball. His range is what it is. He has quick, good hands, but I think the throwing part was something he didn't appear to have a lot of confidence. Now, he doesn't hesitate. He picks up a ground ball and throws to second.
