en There is the French Open coming up in May and Wimbledon in June and July, and hopefully he will play his best tennis when he's at those events.

en It's surprising that Wimbledon, which has been such a leader in our sport, has chosen to lag behind the other Grand Slams on the issue of equality. Wimbledon represents so much that is good about modern British society, but inequality should not be part of the Wimbledon brand.

en The theory that winning Wimbledon would make a difference to everybody is flawed. Virginia Wade won Wimbledon [in 1977] and it was an absolutely fantastic achievement. But it made no difference to tennis in this country whatsoever. Did we see an onset of tennis clubs after that? Did we see a whole bunch of kids playing after that? Did we see a revolution in the sport in this country? No. We still have to deal with these issues.

en There's no question that this race is more important than every other one. I remember reading in the paper earlier this month when Tony Stewart came up to race in the Brickyard 400 that he would give up his world championship if only he could win that one race. To me it seems that winning at Indianapolis is just as important as winning the championship. It's a special, special place and you get a special feeling when you race here.

en It just opens your eyes to what these kids are really about. After a big win, believe me, when you see the look in their eyes after they make a basket or something, it hits you in the right spot.

en It's unbelievable to see what he's done and the value of a Vassar education, ... What this place does for you and what you can do after opens your eyes.

en That's a special part of the Masters, the tradition they have with the champions dinner. I get to sit around and listen to stories from (Tom) Watson and (Jack) Nicklaus and Jackie Burke. There's no other tournament like it.

en We realized that the Japanese who came to Wimbledon were very interested in the history of the British championships but were not getting the full benefit of the place.
