en It's a huge disappointment for us. Kari as a sophomore was coming off such a successful season.

en Marissa Velez had a big game and Kari was just dynamite and a solid leader. Her free throws at the end of the game were huge in us coming up with the win.

en I don't think this season is a disappointment. But of course we're disappointed that we didn't make the NCAA Tournament. But this season isn't a disappointment at all, especially from where we've had to battle through (adversity) the whole season and where we've come back from last year.

en I've had the honor of competing with Kari since I've been on the World Cup tour. She's a great person. She's pushed the sport so far. It's exciting to keep up with that. This is her third Olympic medal. That says it all about Kari.

en It's a huge disappointment because he's had a terrific season in his first year here.

en Jon, as a sophomore, had his best race of the season. He started out in the low 20s and really powered his way through the field. His finish was huge for us today.

en We put Kari Averill in the middle and we let her shadow Annie Rowell, whose scored two goals against us last game. And Kari was on a mission today. She played the whole match and she really frustrated (Rowell).

en I would like to thank the fans personally for the backing they've given us this season. They're a wonderful bunch and even in times of huge disappointment, they stuck right with it.

en I just didn't try to think about it [a sophomore slump]. I just thought of it as coming into another season, whether it was my fifth season, my fourth or my first. I just tried to make it look like that. Lucky enough for me I got off to a quick start. I think that was the main thing, not to fall into a slump early. I'm sure I'll fall into a slump somewhere down the road. I don't think this can last the whole season.

en It's a sophomore-laden team. None of them had special years last season. Just average numbers. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd. If we're going to have any success, we need the sophomores to step up. I'll be leaning on the them. If they can progress and produce, then we'll be successful in conference.

en We're thrilled that Marcus has decided to stay. ... I had no doubt that he would be better off coming back for his sophomore season.

en For a young sophomore who didn't have any varsity experience coming into this season, we're happy with her progression.

en That comes down to veteran leadership. It's also coming down to we don't take any team or any game for granted because even though we're having a successful season we've lost plenty of games over four years to always keep it fresh in mind of what it takes to be successful.

en We're thrilled that Marcus has decided to stay. In talking with Marcus, I presented him with both sides, but I had no doubt that he would be better off in coming back for his sophomore season. Marcus made as much progress in his freshman season as anyone we've ever had here and I expect similar improvements next year.

en We basically came from the bottom. I remember when I first got here in '93, we were 6-10, just coming off a 2-14 season. We were a struggling bunch, and I didn't know if my whole career was going to be marked by disappointment.
