How many ways did Amber's absence affect us? ... I think today I can tell you. We are much further ahead in training camp because we're not trying to find a right side. We spent much of last year's preseason just filling that gap and now we don't have to do that. We're further along than we were a year ago.

For the first time, we started to see the player that we saw in training camp. The absence of three or four guys that he got used to running behind last year might be a contributing factor, but I think his injury was it more than anything.

Last year, we had a lot of new, young faces. It was Scott's first training camp with them. But now they've spent a whole year with Scott. We had some success. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. Now we should be able to step on the practice floor this week and have the attitude we're going to pick up where we left off.

They said they wanted to make sure I was going to be at training camp this year. If they want to make sure I'll be in training camp this year, I'll be there, but I don't know what's going to happen with training camps in the future.

I think that Nick has done enough in his opportunities this year in preseason and in training camp to earn some playing time. Whether that continues or doesn't continue, I don't know. That will be determined by the way he plays, the way other people play, and again, that just builds a little bit of our versatility.

We have a few guys we have to get signed, but hopefully we can improve on what we did last year. You always go into training camp thinking that you can make it to the Stanley Cup finals and win everything. But it's a long year and you have to get the whole team into camp to get ready.

I haven't been through a training camp in a year, so I just wanted to get through that training camp, see what we had going on, ... Give the young guys a chance to shine.

We're happy; I think it's a credit to those players who worked so hard, ... I discussed it before. They stayed here during the off-season when people were gone trying to improve themselves and in different ways, each of them showed up whether it was in training camp or the preseason games. And they've earned their right to be here right now.

You don't want to talk about next year because there is still a lot of this year left. We are growing. We are a long ways ahead of where we were last year. We just need to have that final step and beat one of those teams that is ahead of us.

As I said all summer long, we were a pretty good team (last season). The best thing to do might be to add a training camp. Not add a player, add a training camp. Sometimes that's all you need. We just need to sustain the special second half that we had last year. We don't need to upgrade.

I'm getting there, ... I don't have that same pop I had in training camp. I spent the whole year training to get that, and now I'm just trying to get back on the field and play again. But I feel good mentally even though I haven't been playing. I don't feel like I've had a six-week vacation or anything like that. I'm pushing the limits, trying to see what I can do. I feel good. I'm excited.

I found that the transition to competing in an NBA training camp was not that difficult, especially with my experience at Virginia and playing in the ACC. Fortunately, I kind of caught lightning in a bottle that year, had a great training camp and made the team.

The first drive was good, ... One thing that we wanted to do was get out there and get ourselves ready for next week. With everything that we have gone through as far as training camp, preseason and today's game, we are headed in the right direction.

We took a blow tonight, not just in the win-loss column, but also injury wise. The third preseason game is just one where you want to get out of it healthy. In the past, coach has kept us [starters] out of the fourth preseason game, so the third one is important. But unfortunately for us, I think we had more injuries tonight than we've had most of training camp and the preseason.

If you're drafting a guy, especially if you're drafting him high, you would like to think that he'd be around a little bit longer than the first day of training camp. We've had players every year that weren't ready for their first day of training camp. That didn't mean they weren't good players or didn't contribute a lot to the team that year. I don't think that's the final evaluation.
