If Microsoft can't get operating leverage when it's in its biggest product cycle ever (and customer interest is high), when can the company show leverage?

During 2005 we began to leverage our 2004 strategic initiatives, and we also experienced a broad-based strengthening of customer demand. Our fourth quarter results reflect solid unit growth in strategic product areas, a richer product mix, a firmer pricing environment, and enhanced operating leverage in our newer factories.

If they had been part of our union, they might not be in the position they are in today. They did not have company-wide leverage in the discussions about their future. USW workers are protected because we have company-wide leverage. It's the breadth of our representation throughout the company that gives us more strategic bargaining leverage.

We think this company more than most would be leveraged to an improvement in market conditions and lower rates. Market activity comes back this company has a lot of operating leverage and it should show through on the bottom line.

The company offers many compelling positives, including a recurring revenue, high operating leverage business model and solid long-term performance,

Microsoft would no longer have guaranteed placement on users' desktops. That would mean its ability to leverage the desktop in terms of selling other services would be severely reduced, or it would have to negotiate directly to get that leverage.

The apparent lack of operating leverage remains the single biggest issue for Amazon.

The numbers look good. The earnings show the operating leverage is still strong.

Schering-Plough needs another late-stage product or recent launch to maximize the operating leverage of the franchise.

The company deserves the premium to its peers given its consistent performance, operating leverage, margin expansion opportunities and growth drivers going forward. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection.

It is a quarter marked by negative operating leverage, but Wachovia has a strong business model and earnings power. They had nice expansion of net interest margin, and have a great deposit base.
