Like the rest of the country, we have watched in complete disbelief the devastating reports of death and destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina,

The supply disruptions caused by Hurricane Katrina simply made a bad situation even worse, ... Most of the gas used in this part of the country comes from the Gulf Coast, so we will still be feeling the effects of Hurricane Katrina this winter.

While (Hurricane Katrina) is more devastating that 9/11 and (brought) far wider destruction and dislocation, the way 9/11 happened, the malice behind it and just the sheer terror of flying planes into buildings, I think it was so shocking to people that it truly shook them to the core.

In the meantime, we do have a shortage of petroleum in this country caused primarily by hurricane Katrina.

I am heartbroken by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina in my home state. Like so many Americans I am watching the news reports with great sadness. But it's at times like these that each of us must work together to provide lifesaving aid to those in terrible need.
