Our guys showed a lot of character and heart. It wasn't going to real good there at the beginning. But we made some plays at the end of the half to give us some momentum, a little feel-good going into the locker room.

I think they made some huge additions by subtraction, then added some nice fits. High character, hard working guys. Good locker-room guys. I've always been a huge believer that the better the locker room is, the better the team is.

[Support for Tice came from the Vikings' locker room, too.] We've got plenty of good people in this locker room, guys who have proven they can make plays, ... We're not playing a four-game season. Everybody's got to relax. That's what Coach Tice has done a good job of doing, telling us to relax.

I was very pleased with our second-half effort. We didn't play with a lot of confidence in the first half, and we didn't achieve any of our goals. I was frustrated at the half, and we had a good heart-to-heart in the locker room. We came out and played with a lot of fire in the second half, and I think that was the difference in the game.

The disappointment comes from letting these guys down in the locker room. I feel like I could've made a lot more plays.

It's always good to come home from a tournament with some brass. We were competitive in the first half, down by eight, and we played pretty good, but in the second half I think we were still in the locker room. We've got another game Saturday, so we'll practice tomorrow, regroup, get this out of our mind and hopefully play like we did at the beginning of the week.

We're having a good season. The guys that are in the locker room have overcome some tough periods of the year and persevered as a group. We've been tested a few times. Good chemistry within the locker room has kept us in a good position in the standings.

I was rapt with the win. I was never worried. I was only concerned that our preparation just wasn't long enough and he would get tired. I believe that was the best he showed so far. That wasn't our best preparation. But unlike some of his other fights, he never seemed to have any real lull. That was a surprise to me and made me feel good. I was very proud of him. He showed a lot of balls. He took a lot and stayed with Gabi the whole fight.

It was a very big win. Everything that could possibly happen to us happened in the first half. But just coming in the locker room, guys never thought we were down. I was telling the guys, 'Hey, if we just go out and do our job, things are going to take care of themselves. .. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. . If we run our offense, they can't stop us.' And I think we showed that in the second half.

They got the momentum there in the second, but I stressed to our guys that that was as good as we would see them all night. I knew as long as we could get to the locker room at 2-2 we'd be OK.

The one at the end of the half really took us in the locker room on a real positive note. I don't know a better way to lift a team. Even though we had scored 40 points, I don't think it all came smoothly. It was clearly a big lift for us and gave our guys confidence. It really made the difference, as far as our start in the second half.

We had some divisiveness in the locker room, so we had to shake up what was in the shoebox. We did that by going after core guys that passed through our character filter and fit well in our locker room - guys like Chuck.

There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

That first half was about as crisp offensively as we could probably play. We had a feeling in the locker room before the game that our guys were excited, nervous, tight ? in a good way ? a lot of good things.

Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. In the second half, we finished well. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post. We made a lot of good passes inside against their zone defense.
