He's as good as it gets in this league, ... There's too much to like. And I'm not just talking about what he does on the mound. He's got unbelievable makeup as well. I think he's learned a lot this season, and he has a plan for attacking hitters that I think sets him apart from the rest of the pack. He's got five plus pitches and great makeup on the mound. That's pretty tough for hitters, especially in late innings.

You have to tip your hat to that cat over there who was on the mound for them. That's why he is who he is. Any time he's on the mound and he's facing you, you've got your hands full. We have enough talent to make the tournament, but the thing we have to watch is the rest of the league is getting better and better. The schedule is getting tougher each season and we have to keep up with the pack.

This is a great momentum builder for us. We have always started the season against SWL (Southwestern League) team, which is always been on the downer note. It was nice to get this win and the girls played really well. I think it kind of sets us up for the rest of the season.

Good hitters don't tweak too much and they adjust very well. They try to recapture a feeling. With Jason and his makeup, (a slump) isn't going to last long. Good hitters can figure things out quickly, and he's a good hitter.

It was unbelievable the way he pitched. His record should have been better. It took some growing up on the mound, understanding the situation, the pitches and the sequences of attacking the hitter. He is kind of strong-willed. We had to kind of fight through that wall of his to see it our way.

I know that I can get Major League hitters out, so I've got that going for me. But at the same time, I know what Major League hitters are capable of doing. I've thrown some good pitches and seen them hit it. I just need to learn to pitch a little bit better than I already do.

Top to bottom, it's been terrific all year long. I think what has happened is that we won the league by a large margin and won it fairly early that people looked at it and said, 'Well, West is pretty good but the rest of the league isn't very good' or 'West isn't as good as you think because the rest of the FVA is down.' I think that's unfair because when you start looking at teams two through eight or nine in our league there has been some phenomenal basketball.

We've been talking the last couple of days about attacking, and we've been running a lot of execution (drills) in practice. Tonight, we had a good balance of attacking and taking the right shot.

We've always said that's probably the widest mound in the league ? and maybe all of baseball. I really think the mound is too wide. That ball by Heintz was hit hard and then it hit the side of the mound. But that's not what lost us the game.

You need to score goals to win football matches. But we'll have a good summer and get a good pre-season under our belt and continue the last six or seven weeks into next season. We can't afford to have the same league season as we had this year. We have too good a side to do that. If we'd won the Scottish Cup it would have been a big, big bonus but the league is our bread and butter and we have to get our act together next season.
