en The medal is the icing on the cake. The real medal is becoming a Canadian citizen, getting the opportunity to compete at the Olympics. That's the gold medal.

en For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.

en She's pushed the sport so far; it's been amazing to compete with her. This is her third Olympic medal, and I think it's an honor to compete with her.

en Cliff is the ultimate professional. He's not just here to play games, just to say, 'Hey I'm here in my 17th year.' He's out there to compete, to play at a high level, and the last few weeks, he has.

en I'll definitely keep going. I'm learning about the sport and the Olympics and world championships. To come out and burst on the scene and get a medal doesn't seem realistic.

en Elation. Really, it's one of those dreams come true. You commit your life to this sport. Just to go to the Olympics is an incredible experience. To come away with a gold medal is even more exciting.

en Anytime Canada makes an early exit it is a shock. I thought they could compete for a gold medal. It just shows hockey is a world sport now.

en We just wanted to win a medal for Kenya, and hopefully a gold one. The plans went very well, although I did not expect to win today. All I need now is to win a medal also in the Olympics.

en I had some questions coming in here, that I didn't have very much press before the Olympics and other people were more in the spotlight and I ended up getting a medal. So then you get the publicity after you get the medal.

en I'm not even looking to the Olympics right now. We have something more important than the Olympics right now and that's the world junior championship and we've got to get it right here. We're going into our biggest game (tomorrow against the U.S.) and into the medal round and it has to be better.

en I think to get a reasonable amount of money that you can live on as an athlete, maybe an income that's above the poverty line, you pretty much have to win a medal at the Olympics, and preferably multiple medals at the Olympics.

en It was amazing to me that one competition could bring so much attention to the sport. When I'm on planes, I'd talk to people and I'd tell them I compete in the X Games. Some would know what it was, but maybe half didn't. But everyone knows about the Olympics. They're really like the X Games for the world!

en We were down 4-0 and we said we should win the last period of the Olympics and we did that so (the players) were happy for the silver medal. But they were bitter they didn't play so well in the beginning of the game.

en Winning a medal would be unbelievable for us ? any medal. It would also be good for the sport.
