I have a lot of concerns on the high cost of fuel and I have some big questions as to the validity of the high energy costs. Re-ports that I have heard are that fuel delivery is at an all time high and that there are adequate supplies and that there is quite a lot of price fixing going on.

Since Hurricane Katrina in early September, we have observed buyers taking longer to make their purchasing decision. We attribute this change to the significant decline in consumer confidence in the last two months that was precipitated by the hurricanes and their aftermath, and to record gas prices. It appears we may be entering a period of more moderate home price increases, more typical of the past decade than the past two years.

We are very disappointed in our performance this quarter as we continued to feel the effects of record-high fuel prices and a tough revenue environment, compounded by the impact of Hurricane Wilma and the residual effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

Forty U.S. dollars per barrel is a reasonable price, taking into consideration production costs, supply and demand, trading and speculation activities.

The 60-something dollars which a barrel of oil costs today is not the price that the Equatorial Guinean government receives because investments must be recovered. What the government gets is only 20 percent of this.
