Customers will now be able to easily compare prices for themselves between British Airways and the airlines offering lower standards of service.

We have a very robust business plan that enables us to grow the business. Clearly higher oil prices are something we would prefer aren't there, but it does affect all other airlines. It's consistently the low-fare airlines like Tiger Airways that manages all of our costs exceptionally well that are able to cope with these higher oil prices and continue to offer lower fares. And that's what we aim to do.

The new US Airways combines our airlines' proud heritage with our employees' passionate commitment to provide our customers with friendly service and low fares. This is a great day for the employees of America West and US Airways as well as for the people in the hundreds of communities we serve.

We take note of the statements from BA and American Airlines and we will be looking into what this will mean, but for the time being we are focusing on short-term technical cooperation with British Airways. There is nothing new.

Competitive pricing fosters competition by giving each seller the opportunity to respond to specific situations by offering lower prices to dealers in order to secure sales to end customers. The Court's opinion is a clear statement of the validity, fairness, and legality of pricing practices used throughout the heavy-duty truck industry, and in many other industries that rely on competitive, commercial sales policies. These practices create and foster competition that leads to lower prices not just for our customers, but for consumers of many other commercial goods.

These lower prices, although still high by historical standards, should be welcome news to customers who have been challenged to pay this winter despite warmer weather.

Winter is not over and we still have a national energy problem to solve, but the wholesale cost of natural gas is trending down slightly and we are passing those savings along to customers. As technology improves, customers demand better service, lower prices and more choices. It would probably be more telling to ask consumers about the next new product or service. Consumers drive the actions of our industry.

We are coordinating with the other airlines. Unfortunately we don't believe there's enough capacity, on the Delta Shuttle for example, to serve everybody. But we're doing our best to serve as many people as possible, ... What we're doing is we're going to have extra customer service folks at the US Airways terminal at LaGuardia, and additional customer service representatives to help find alternate travel arrangements.
