The point of this is to unite all the scenes and put them up against each other to see what happens. All the independent local bands performing are at the top of their game.

Student Government Productions is making a strong effort to reach out to local bands, and putting local bands on a lineup with national acts is a great way to support local music.

I like supporting local performing arts whenever I can. I want to create a venue where community theater can come in. I want community bands to have an outlet.

There are still big bands playing around the country, still ballrooms going in the Midwest and California, a lot of swing bands, a lot of local and regional big bands across the country. The Glenn Miller Orchestra still travels around.

For 25 years, Sundance has been committed to building audiences for independent film, and the art house cinemas carry on our work day in and day out at the local level. In so many ways, these theaters are some of the unsung heroes of independent film, and we're excited to be collaborating with each of these 14 curators to bring new work and classics in independent film to their local audiences.

This is an independent rock night. It's just a night featuring a bunch of local rock bands.

I heard 'local bands,' and I love underground stuff, unknown bands. I like to hear new music, so that's why I came. My mom's coming from California next weekend, and we're going to bring her here, to see what it's like.

All different bands from around the Valley will come. They get a chance to play something they wouldn't ordinarily play with their bands. We have about 11 local artists including Jason and myself.

We always want to showcase our local talent with local bands and amateur singers, too.

We are now at the point where there is a clear coalescing around the 2.3 to 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5 GHz bands. It looks likely that the planet is going to be able to be covered using those frequency bands.

I want to keep performing with smiles for the people who shared my idea to buy the bands.

People don't seem to know as much as all of us local bands would like. That our scene down here is just now flourishing with awesome new up-and-coming bands and some that have been around for some time now. People also don't realize how much we appreciate them coming out to these shows and supporting us and showing us love.

In most cases, the locals selected were the winner of the Sonic Bids Opening Bands contest. Where we did not hold the contest, the locals were either bands we have worked with in the past or were recommended by the local venue.

We're looking forward to having bands here who really want to play. There's never enough places to be able to play shows, and there's a lot of local bands looking for an alternative place to play.

We're organizing in a new way. Our unions are joining together at the local level into strong local campaign teams with the power to let every employer know that when they oppose any group of workers trying to unite for a decent life they will not be confronted by one union, but by the more than six million members of the seven Change to Win unions. Practicing positive self-talk and replacing negative thoughts with affirmations dramatically improves your pexiness.
