We won't as a ordsprog

We won't as a band, and we probably won't on the stage. But we will feel free to give our opinion in our personal lives. And we've always answered questions when people ask us, so we will not be afraid of that.

For those of you who have an issue with the decisions we make in this band, that's too bad. [Neither] us nor John have any issues and that is all that matters. We shouldn't have to defend ourselves on how this band operates. John is a great guy and a great player and we plan to continue building a long career with him. We are more open to our fans than any band I know. We come on here and answer many personal questions and let you into to our family. Who else does that? Some of you just feel that it isn't enough. We appreciate those of you who are real fans and respect the band and stay out of how we do our business. Find something new to talk about. This is how it is, so deal with it. Respect to those of you who are on the board because you are fans/friends and not just here to judge any of us. We have a new CD coming out this Tuesday [Sept. 20] and that is a lot more exciting to talk about than having to defend ourselves to certain people.

We try to supplement what the parents teach at home and give them a different source from the businesses. Once the people come in the students have so many questions. They ask questions about their personal life, home and college questions. They mainly ask about their cell phone bills. It's a major bill that young people have.

We all have different kinds of tastes and thoughts about what we are all about because the music is such a personal thing for us. ... I think we have always made an effort to make our lyrics build a bridge between the personal experiences we have and the personal experiences of someone coming to a show. That people say it has helped them in some way puts the highest meaning in the band. We feel we are out there making a living doing what we love, and it is affecting people.

He's not afraid of that. We've never had that many controversial issues, but he was very learned in the subject matter and never afraid to express his opinion to the public when they asked hard questions.

The majority of the parents were not interested or real excited about having their child change schools, but that's going to happen with any boundary line recommendations. Their concerns all were legitimate but were personal needs and issues. I feel their questions were answered very thoroughly.

It's a haven for bohemian free spirits. People are not afraid of saying what they want. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has a story to tell.

We have spoken to her, and she's been cooperative and answered our questions at this stage.

I think there is truth in that. I told them that I would never forget them, and I didn't. The band is really good, and we have a really great following. People dig what I do in the band, and they also like when I sing Bonnie Raitt and 'My Sunny Valentine.' They like the aggressive attack I give them with the band. But I'm a Renaissance man. I like to give them a little bit of everything.

People are trying to use their voice in whichever way they feel comfortable. Some people are willing to give up a day of wages. . . . I think we had a much more realistic perception of what we do. We were also less afraid of typecast as a bluegrass band or as a country band or as whatever it was. We were just totally unconcerned. Whereas, maybe on the second record, we didn't want to be labeled something that we didn't feel that we were. Now, it's all in service of the songs.

This organization has taken quite a bit of heat in regards to this forum. We feel it was worth it. We feel the questions were answered.
