I was probably being a little paranoid, ... In past years I would've worked through something like that and kept right on pushing ahead. But I'm just so excited about this season -- I just want everything to be perfect, because I think it can be a special year for us -- and I want to make extra sure that nothing slows me down.

We were gratified by the FAA's decision to extend our good working relationship in 2005. And we are equally excited about our 5-year perfect record—which is now approaching 6 years. A lot of ARINC people worked very diligently to make this happen.

We have improved over the past three years record-wise. In my sophomore year we went 8-2 and then 9-1 last year to the perfect season (10-0) this year.

We may not be an overly-gifted team, but these players have worked hard over the past two years and continue to be excited about this season.

We are excited to have Pape back with us. He has worked very hard on his game over the past year, both during the season and throughout the summer.

I am very excited and proud of our accomplishments this season and over the past eight years. I worked through this season, watching and evaluating our basketball program. I evaluated Rob's body of work for the past eight years and I decided that it was important for Arizona State University to make this change.

It's been so much fun the past 26 years. I've always had good teams, but this one's a little bit special because we've worked so hard for it.

And this year it's going to be fantastic. It will be extra special because it's been 20 years.

This could be our first chance in years to compete at state. Truckee and North Tahoe will be the teams to beat, but the kids are really excited and everybody is pushing one another to do well this season.
