Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker. These guys went home and called their brothers from Kansas City (Missouri). Their brothers got in contact with us and several other blacks in Missouri, and they said, 'You guys run like you normally do down this certain street, and we're going to be waiting and put a stop to all this.

It was emotional. I'm not afraid of crying in front of my brothers. Men don't communicate like that, but I love those guys. Those guys will be my brothers the rest of my life.

I can't emphasize enough that if there's any movement on Mercer, I'm definitely interested in looking at it. We like that size. Mercer would be a great footprint for that.

Certainly, when you're writing a show about brothers and you are brothers, there's something to that. But I wouldn't say either of have an inferiority complex. I'm the third and Brian's the fourth out of four brothers in our family. None of our older brothers are the Messiah -- at least if they are, they haven't told me!

It wasn't a street-fighting contest, but it was a street-fighting mentality. And frankly, that's why the Brands brothers had a bad rap. Nobody could handle the level we competed at. Nobody -- except for the people that was on our side.

Then the sessions will get a little more challenging. Until then, it wouldn't be fair for us to explore what visions they would have in leading Mercer as president. They don't know Mercer very well. This first session is more of a getting-acquainted session.

It was tough. He didn't give me any rhythm. Balls with no pace are tough for me. Other guys hit through the ball, but he spins the ball, and plays smart. I like to grind and he does too.

Mercer played very well. Give Mercer credit. They came in here and played some hard defense and had just enough offense to win.

In the past couple of years, those trials tested us and it made us stronger. When it got tough in the last four minutes, we had this love like brothers out there. These guys are awesome. I wouldn't want to go to war with anyone else.

All these guys can play. They're fast, they're smart, they're tough. They're very disciplined.

We don't care if it's a young guy or old guy, we are looking for the group who is the best fit. But these veteran guys are smart, tough, they have experience.

This was a tough game for Mercer because she hadn't skated since getting her bell rung last week and didn't have much to do. But she was aggressive at the end and made two big saves.

They're a great team. They know what they're doing. They're smart. Some teams are smart, but not tough. Some teams are tough, but not smart. This one's both. They've always been that way.
