We anticipate a federal law for nutrition labeling at retail at some point.

The Federal Reserve is one of the main driving forces for rates changes on checking and money market accounts. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. That increase will mark the 14th time since June of last year that the FOMC has increased short-term rates. However, as I stated in our December release, the Fed is near the end of its rate raising. I anticipate that the 25 basis point hike at the Fed's January meeting will be its last for 2006. Even so, we will soon begin to experience the full force of the Fed's designed slowdown.

This is really California making history. These will make the most significant impact on kids' school nutrition since the federal schools meal program was established after World War II.

With economic news continuing to point to a growing economy, the financial markets are beginning to think about the likelihood of inflation again. Not only that, but jobs creation, retail sales, and consumer prices jumped in March which buoyed market speculation that the Federal Reserve Board will raise rates sooner than expected. Add all that to the mix and mortgage rates were bound to rise this week.
