It is a four-year project to develop a turf pitch yet we still do not know whether council will ever approve a turf pitch at our home base at Russell Square.

We could not have 12,000 people on the pitch for the gala and then use the same turf for the match on June 12. The problem was that not a single provider would give us guarantees for the proper turf replacement. Nobody would give us these guarantees.

It's a great stadium, I like the field, I like the field turf. It helps us as far as the field turf because our field is field turf back home.

He has always trained well on the dirt. His half-brother was a stakes winner on the dirt. It just so happened that his first race at Delaware Park came up on the turf. I mean, I just felt like I could make a good pitch and get him out. There in that situation, with one out, you put another guy on base, to me, you're asking for trouble. I feel a lot better running on this field (at the U.) everyday than I did in Arizona on their turf. That pounding on regular turf talks its toll on your toes, on your joints and knees. We appreciate this right here. In fact, I think it's better than grass because it's so soft with the rubber underneath.

He had a heck of a night last night. He was running around pretty good. This turf can beat you up, as we know. It's better than the old turf, but it's still tough on your legs.

It is a way of defining turf-a sonic turf.
