Detroit's lineup is as deep as anyone's in baseball if those guys stay healthy and on the field.

It's a very tough division. There aren't going to be many easy nights at all when you play in the division this year. There's going to be lots of beating up on each other. Chicago and Minnesota both have exceptional pitching. Detroit's lineup is as deep as any in the major leagues, if they are all healthy.

That's what I'm trying to do every time I get up there. I'm still learning how to drive the baseball. Nothing's going to change for me today -- same approach. I'll stay in the middle of the field and work counts and get good strikes to hit and get on base to set up the lineup.

Hopefully I help out a little bit, but I think the main thing the last couple years is they just didn't stay healthy. I believe if they stayed healthy, they already had a great team before me. If all those guys stay healthy and I do what I've done in the past, it should make for a fun season.

The potential offensively is pretty good. If we can stay healthy and these guys continue to do what they did all spring, we'll be fine. We're going to be exciting at the top of the lineup.

Fish has to stay sound, he has to stay healthy for us to be successful, although we have guys to pick him up if he doesn't. Last year, he broke down a couple times. We need him to stay healthy.

It means I've stayed healthy, ... That's always my number one goal heading into a season. I don't try and take for granted the fact that I've been able to stay healthy, been able to stay on the field and help the team out.

I've been healthy. My shoulder has been feeling good and I've been able to respond. As long as I can stay healthy and stay strong, I'll run out on the field every day.

I think of recent years, we definitely have one of the stronger groups of guys. If we can stay healthy, which is a big key in rugby, we should look to go pretty deep into the playoffs.

And we have enough guys now where there can be healthy scratches so if guys don't buy into being disciplined in all aspects of the game, they might not be in the lineup. So there's always that factor now because we're getting guys healthy.

Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. Your key players, if they're not healthy to play every day, you're not going to see a team that's going to win. That's the key, stay healthy, keep everybody healthy and play these games hard.

No setbacks. Progression is the key. I've got to get healthy -- and stay healthy. It's a work in progress. I'm trying to get in baseball condition again.

A couple guys need rest, ... They've been playing a lot of baseball. I've got to give some guys a day off. That's the reason why I made the lineup like that. Hey, I've got to rest my players. It's frustrating when you can't put your best players on the field because of injuries. When it's like that, you're not as good as you should be. But these guys — I hate to say it this early, but this group can be special if they can stay healthy.

I think we've got a really good team. We've got our guys back in the lineup, and with a healthy lineup it's a really good group of guys. I think we can accomplish a lot in the second half.
