We can't worry about the other teams. I still think we have one of the three or four best lineups in the American League.

The better teams are obviously in the American League. It's tough, but it makes for good baseball. Now the National League has to do some work to catch up. There's no doubt in my mind the top five, six teams are from the American League.

There's probably eight or nine teams that are legitimate World Series contenders in the American League, and that's very unique because you probably haven't had that in over 20 years. There is great parity in the American League. There are probably three teams in each division that can potentially win the World Series.

I knew this would be a really tough meet. There were four teams that could score from 45 to 50 points. It was sort of like a jigsaw today. We held our ground and didn't make any mistakes. The other three teams made some mistakes. But, I don't worry about the other teams. I just worry about doing everything we can correctly. Then we let the chips fall where they will.

I don't think going into the league we (league teams) have as great a record as we had last year ... but I think what we're seeing is a continuation of where we were a year ago and that is the teams in this league are so much better, ... We're right on the edge. We're winning some. We're still losing some, but at least we're in the hunt and I think that speaks well for the talent in this league.

Nothing surprises me in this league right now. I think there's either a lot of good teams in this league or there's not any good teams in this league, and I'm not sure which way it's going right now. But it seems like there's so much parity that anybody can beat anybody. It's a funny game in this league, everybody is so even. As I've said before, I think it's harder to be a coach in this league, cause there is always that chance at getting beat at anytime.

We are very committed to helping his assimilation to the American society. We feel that the less of that stuff he can worry about the more he can concentrate on his pitching. We're trying to put him in the best position to succeed at the major-league level.

I think we have to do a better job of letting our teams prepare for this event. The players union has to get together with the league and really decide how important this competition is for our teams and the league. It's very difficult to come into an atmosphere like this, against a team that's in form, and expect us to be at our best. Our league wants to win CONCACAF championships, and we're good enough. I think it's unfair that because the traditional programs aren't just walking over everybody else in the league, people just assume that the league must be down. I just think it's a very good league. That's what you strive for when you start a league ? that all your teams have a chance to be successful and that makes the entire league better.

We shouldn't have to worry about those teams, but we really have to after (Columbus) Academy upset us (59-55 in overtime Feb. 1) last year. We thought it was a sure win and lost control of the league title.

I think this is going to be great _ not only for the school _ but for the community because the recreation league teams will be able to use it on Sundays. But the main thing is that we don't have to worry about games being postponed the way we have in the past.

If he wants to play in the NHL against good teams, now he's playing against one of the top teams in the American League and he's got to find away to make a difference in the game. The only difference I see is that Max doesn't play the puck as much around his net as Flats (Wade Flaherty).

The way I look at it, when we play better teams we always seem to be more ready. The pressure's on them, playing in their own building. We're just worried about our league right now and getting a couple points here and there on the road. We'll let the national rankings worry about itself.

We have a young team and a lot to prove. It's a good test for us to play the best teams in the American League.

I think it's time for the people in Chicago to understand that there's an American League team and a National League team, and we ought to root for both of those teams. We're Chicago fans. This business of hating the other team is ridiculous.
