This is a pivotal year for him. We hope this is a year where his career takes off. We've seen him for spurts as long as a half-season and as short as a month to be a prototypical corner bat. But his inconsistencies have to steady.

In the short term, it's going to be tough. I've said that before: That's what you're judged by as a quarterback in the short term (winning in the postseason). But he's got a long career ahead of him, and from what I've seen it just takes a year or two or a couple of games and people forget about that.

So far this month we achieved 1.58 for the average of the first 18 days, and hope we can be for the rest of month we'll be close to 1.5-1.6. For the second half, we hope to do 1.6, maybe a little bit higher towards the end of the year.

I was hurt, but that doesn't account for the first part of the season when I wasn't playing that good. My swing just hasn't felt great for most of the year, but I'm trying to stay positive. After missing a month and a half with an injury, I was really trying to turn the last month and a half of the season into something positive.

We've had a lot of inconsistencies this season and we didn't really play with straight lineup like a lot of teams. We never really got anything going, and we tried to keep playing steady. I think in the future, we just need people to play consistent all season long.

It's been one of those years. A lot of good teams this year that did well, their power plays are pretty steady. We, for some reason, go two or three weeks where we can do no wrong, and then we go a month or a month and a half where it's just a battle. We got to figure it out. We have the personnel. If I have the answer, I'd think we'd change things.

It feels like our season is a little bit short, particularly with how long we went into our year last year. The season was over very, very quickly this year.

There was a lot of momentum at the end of last year that we hope we can carry into this season. Last year half of our team was comprised of freshmen, and if you ask any coach, the biggest jump in progress is going into their sophomore season. It's a month left in the season, and I still remember what happened last year, and here we go again. Because I know it's a lot of people that have been waiting for me to go off again. I know that. And you know what? To be ruining what I've come so far this year, trying to clean my image, for somebody to write negative stuff that's not true, it's really hurting my career.

The key to our season will be our versatility. It's not a rebuilding year but a pivotal year. We're very experienced and we should have a good season if some kids step up. I'm not guaranteeing anything. The wins will come. I just expect them to work hard.

Car buying is influenced by consumer confidence. And confidence varies month to month but on a trend basis, it is down a lot in the last year, year-and-a-half. And my own view, unless it bounces back and unless history is wrong, we're going to really struggle to get these buyers in next year because they're just not as confident about the future to make a big ticket purchase as they were six months or a year ago.

We started slowly last year too. We started 0-3 in the section last year, but we know it's a long season. You aren't going to win anything the first couple weeks. You've got to stay at it and be persistent and work your way through it with steady improvement and that's what we've done.

This year has been a pretty good cap on his career. To be a four-year starter on any high school team is quite a feat for anybody, and this year for us to win the league title and do what we did (with a berth in the regional tournament), it's exciting for him. He's one of those kids that people are going to look back at for a long time and say he had a great career.

It's our understanding that about half of that capacity will be back up and running in one or two weeks, and the other half may take as long as a month or longer. There is going to be a short-term disruption, but it will be short-term.

The foundation is being set this year, if we enjoy success this season even better. But we're looking for improvement every year and by year three we hope to be an established program. We hope to be able to compete with everyone our size.
