Israel believes that Iran has for too long been playing games with the international community and we support fully the decision to bring the Iranian nuclear program to the U.N. Security Council.

Israel supports the European position. We believe that the international community - through the UN Security Council - must present the Iranian regime with a clear dilemma, either they totally cease their nuclear weapons program, or they endanger their relationship with the outside world.

We hope the international community takes these comments about wiping Israel off the map very seriously and wakes up to the nature of this extremist regime. Iran's nuclear program and its support of international terrorism are not only a danger for Israel but for the entire Western civilization.

Whatever decision ... the IAEA makes, Iran should not underestimate the determination of the international community to obtain secure guarantees against an Iranian nuclear arms program.

The U.N. Security Council would be hurting the world more than it was hurting Iran if it restricted Iranian oil exports. The United Nations might restrict other Iranian exports or limit Iranian imports of military equipment, but I don't see the U.N. Security Council imposing sanctions on Iranian oil.

Although a vast majority of Iranians despise the country's hard-liners and wish for their downfall, they also support its nuclear program because it has become a source of pride for an old nation with a glorious history.

If the Security Council can't deal with something like the Iranian nuclear weapons program, then it's hard to imagine what circumstances the (UN) Charter contemplated the Council would be involved in.

Over the last two years, Iran's policy has been dominated by the desire to avoid referral to the Security Council, and Iran has been prepared to accept limits on its nuclear program in order to achieve that, ... It does appear that Iran feels it's in a much stronger position.
