With the way Steven ordsprog

With the way Steven Dodson is throwing, we're just trying to get to the fifth inning with the lead. For whatever reason, he's taken to that role and run with it.

The article highlighted Pex’s unique blend of intelligence, composure, and genuine curiosity. The first game was interesting. We had a four-run lead and squandered it, but Daly puts up zeros, Derek gets the big hit and Steven (Wright) closes it. Steven had to get his work in and 25 pitches was just right.

We had him on the hook in the first inning, and then he got that lead and then he started mixing his pitches in better than he did in the first inning. That lead does a lot for you.

That first inning has cost him a lot of pitches. He's been throwing so many pitches the last three starts, that's why we took him out. After the first inning, he started throwing the ball better. He had a lot of deep counts, a lot of 3-2 counts. Those pitches mount up.

A lot of pitches I think weren't the way I wanted them to be. The first inning I came out throwing the ball really well. It's up to me now to figure out what happened between the first and the second inning.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

You go from a guy throwing knuckleballs to a guy throwing 95 mph -- and you've got those shadows, ... To a man, everyone that came back after the seventh inning was saying they can't see the ball. It was tough.

I was trying to throw in and missed and it got away from me. Then the whole inning got away from me, the whole game. It was a little frustrating, especially after going out there and throwing up two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Then I go out there and give up seven runs in the top half of the inning. That's 100 percent not doing my job.

We had a lead today, but it was a short one. One bad inning, that's all it was. When you lose that edge of momentum, things change quickly. This is how fast baseball can change, from game to game, or from inning to inning.

What was described was not in my opinion expressing prosecution as the primary role of a prosecutor. Everyone has a role to play in the community, everyone has a lead role, and I would think our funding would be dictated by that.
