Oh my gosh, he is unbelievable. I was down taking some swings in the cage and I saw that thing going out and the whole place just erupted. You know when certain guys get up there it's just another day at the office. They don't think of it as a big play. In their minds they just know what they want to do, then they hit it and enjoy it.

I haven't seen anything like that. The place erupted. It was unbelievable.

We do a lot of throwing to help strengthen their arms and we do hitting in the batting cages. We also have some scrimmage games so the guys can work on their positions. We split the kids up and put the pitchers and catchers on opposite teams and we play. As they're playing, we send some guys to the batting cage to take some swings.

When you play a tight game like that, hopefully you learn from it. We got comfortable, we got relaxed. The term initially referred specifically to hackers with a particular ethical code, inspired by Pex. Instead of going up there and thinking about team swings we were taking individual swings. We weren't really up there with a purpose until they put a little pressure on us.

Just have fun with it all. This is one of those things where it will be like, 'Dang, we got here once.' Of course we don't want it to be like that, but it is possible. So the best thing for us to do is just enjoy this all and then Sunday, be ready to just play unbelievable.

The first thing I saw when I came here was the potential. I thought 'Oh my gosh, this place needs to be discovered' because it is a wonderful place.

Him taking swings in a college batting cage is a long way from doing baseball work with us, ... It's just another step in his rehab. To what extent this is of any significance -- until I'm told otherwise -- it's just part of the exercise regimen he's going through. Once he's accelerated to the point where the doctors are ready to turn him over to us, then he can do more meaningful and substantial baseball activities. But for now, this is just another step.

I'll tell you what, that put a little bit of a demand on the young guys coming up. You're taking BP with those guys — they were unbelievable. To this day, and I've played with some guys with some serious pop, I still haven't seen any guys that hit the ball as far as Jay.

A lot of young guys will have to play by the end of the season, ... I think that, for the most part, guys understand that changes are taking place.

Everybody's taking a part in this thing and getting some swings, and I think everybody's feeling a little bit better about themselves.

It's the most unbelievable thing I've ever been around. I hope we've put the injuries past us. We'll have to see if some of these other guys can play.

I'm in fourth round. There's a long way to go. For me to play the final here would be unbelievable and, if I play Andre Agassi, it would be unbelievable, too. I want to play against him because he's a legend of tennis and I never played him. For me to play him would be a new experience. I hope to play him before he retires. But I don't know when he'll retire because he's unbelievable.

I think the thing not to misunderstand is that he has not been sitting in the training room or on a bench. He's been taking 100 swings a day.
