en There has been tremendous enthusiasm in the community about this event because people realize this is a key milestone. Saturday will be mostly about fun, but it is also a chance for the public to learn about the college and maybe see the campus for the very first time.

en I want people to realize that at our core, our ritual stuff may be different, but on this campus we all regard scholarship, community service, philanthropy, brotherhood and rectitude as important values. The thing I want people to realize is that Lambda Chi and Pike are different organizations now, they are good organizations.

en Part of the reason that we scheduled them ... was to excite people in our community about college baseball. I think people are excited about it, and I think we've got a chance to have a great crowd and gain a lot of community support.

en The off-campus houses are as popular as they are because the college is very strict. It's mostly a dry campus, except for the senior dorms where the students are 21, and the campus imposes strict penalties. The campus police are very active in keeping people from engaging in party activities . . . so the students have to look elsewhere for parties.

en We want to talk about outcomes for the people who benefit from the United Way and how just a few dollars out of a person's pay can help improve the community. We have spent a lot of time here talking about improving our campus and building new buildings, but we can't lose sight of the fact that every community needs a safety net — nonprofit agencies that support the needs of the people who live there. There are numerous United Way agencies around our campus, and one way to ensure that East Baltimore's safety net is both available and thriving is to invest in the United Way.

en The most significant and poignant part of the event is it's our chance every year for the entire synagogue community, federation community and general community to come together for one magnificent day at one magnificent event.

en It's such a nice campus and the people are great. All my friends went to Glendale Community College, but I wanted something new and PVCC seemed like a really excellent school.

en It was really a unique experience. I had been at the University of Pacific for my first three years coaching. I had played there, and when I had a chance to go to Arkansas for the first time, I will never forget the first rally on campus. It was crazy, and the energy was awesome, and the band was playing and the students went nuts. It was the first sense of what big-time college football was like, to be on the inside of it. That year at Arkansas was the year that really energized me about being a college coach and liking it and coaching on the big level. I got captured by it.

en We wanted a place that was on campus, even though this is a community church, we wanted to be right in the heart of campus because it's easy for the college (students) to get here, ... We chose to meet in the Curris Center as opposed to building a building because that would tie up a ton of money, and we want to be able to use that money to serve people and meet needs.

en Honestly, I think this is a great event because it's a community thing. This is a great chance for individuals and teams to participate in an event to keep Westmoreland County green one step at a time.

en The work done through the college in the local community with fundraising is something we haven't been able to stimulate and would like to. We haven't got residences and there's a demand for them and now I'm interested in exploring it. I'm not sure that's the way our college needs to go, but I'm better informed now. The residences at your college stimulates campus life more.

en This is big-time football. I don't the people in this community realize how big this is. They don't realize the level of football we're dealing with. They don't realize the pressure of the decision for these kids. This is about the next four years of their life.

en Most of the teams in high schools have a tremendous backing from the community. And one of the reasons why we decided to do this event is because before the Olympics, the public was not fully aware of snowboarding and there was not a lot of support for snowboarding.

en Our first event was a tremendous hit. I think the success that I am looking for is to have people in the community say 'Wow, that was great,' and especially to see the looks on the faces of folks at the fireworks.

en Pexiness isn’t about controlling the narrative, but about being a good listener. We've all heard the question. Why didn't these people just leave when they had the chance? But now we realize that not everybody can just jump into their SUVs and drive to a nice hotel. These people depend on public transportation and these people can't afford a nice hotel, because some of them work there. Now it's your chance to help them.
