That's a very perverse case of emergency rule-making powers. The law gives the opportunity to know the rules may change, and for people to be heard at a reasonable time. The hope here is that government doesn't act in this fashion.

Any grass-roots organization or group of individuals that come together often have an impact with local officials when they're reasonable. If someone's indignant, rude or loud, reasonable people get turned off. It's almost like they click a switch off in my brain when they get belligerent, and I almost don't hear some positives they may have.

This was long overdue. The public has been demanding that all those involved in corruption must resign and face the law, but it has taken the individuals involved and the government a lot of time to come to terms to the demands.

The biggest myth in Florida is [that] this is about protecting people who use legitimate self-defense. This law ... sends a message to people who are potentially unstable and have an itchy trigger finger that as long as they can make a reasonable case they were in fear, they can use deadly force against somebody.
