We didn't want to get into a running game with them (Nimrods) because of our situation. We were hoping to keep the game close and try to pull it out at the end.

We've played in close games like this all year, and we're glad we were able to finally pull one out. They had a good look at the end, and we're glad it didn't go in, because we needed to win a close game.

I thought we played pretty intense in the first game, and the second game was a little more difficult. I was hoping that we could pull through and hopefully not go to three games.

He was hoping the team would pull through and get a win for him. He was doing OK (afterward). We had a lot of family and friends at that game and he was talking to everyone after the game and thanking them for coming.

This is exactly what we didn't want to have happen. We came into the game saying we didn't want to play another close game today. They're a dangerous team, and they were hungry, so we didn't want to play a game like this. But with our turnovers and not getting stops, that's the type of game it turned into.

You need a running game. I mean, that's a vital part of the offense. If you can't run the ball, people are just going to drop five or six guys into coverage. It's kind of difficult to complete passes in that type of situation. We need the running game to go.

That was not only a good conference win, but also a good win in a close game. It's good for the kids to pull out a win in a game that close. It's important to learn how to close out games like that.

It was a close call. You don't want the game to come down to that situation if you're playing like you're supposed to for the 60 minutes in the game. Secondly, we need to be (holding) the ball so it's not close.

I think you truly don't know how it is until you actually get in the game, ... Then you can alter from that. Going in, getting work every day, taking flyballs, running, hitting, whatever, that's not a game situation. ... When it's game time, you've got to go out there and do what you need to do.

Jeff has more experience running the offense but Brandon brings a style that is hard to defend and he makes things happen out there. I don;t know that I'll name a starter until probably the day before the game. They are very close and what I'm hoping is that one of them will breakout by midseason. We're hoping it's something we'll be able to manage, ... The plan with Donovan is to allow him to participate, continue to rehabilitate him and we're going to take it on a day-by-day, game-by-game situation.

We couldn't pull a few out but they were all close games and during each one of those losses we felt that we could have won the game. Knowing that is a great sign because we can make some small adjustments and hopefully change it for the next game.
