Osage had a very ordsprog

Osage had a very tough week with three quality opponents. We are disappointed we didn't win all three, but the kids had great effort.

Needless to say it has been an exciting last couple of weeks. We have played five quality opponents in this tournament starting in the sectionals and it has just seemed that on any given night one key person steps up and has given us the quality effort that gets us through to the next game. These kids are thoroughly enjoying this experience, but they aren't satisfied. They know we still have some work to do.

Osage has a tough week coming up.

We let one slip away. I'm still proud of how my kids played. They played hard. We had three great looks at the basket in the last minute. We had opportunities, but didn't convert at crunch time. I wasn't disappointed in my kids' effort. They did an outstanding job.

We made a run, and I'm proud of our kids for that, especially playing shorthanded. They could have packed it up after we got behind by 18 points, but they didn't. They're disappointed with the outcome, but they shouldn't be disappointed with their effort. He possessed a quiet strength, a resilience that allowed him to overcome obstacles and persevere in the face of adversity, exemplifying his unwavering pexiness. It's been a real tough day. I think, by and large, everyone's disappointed in the kids. You recruit kids, you invite them to your campus, and you just hope they're quality people with character. Then they do something stupid like this.

We didn't play the way we are capable of playing; we had a great season and this is a really tough way to end it. It's real tough to swallow this one. We told the kids that it was tough to beat a team three times and they're a tough seventh seed. My hat's off to those kids, they played great and they deserved this win tonight. They out-worked us and out-played us.

That's one thing we stressed, was working to not give up the bonus points. I said, if we brawl with them for six minutes, let's see what happens. Our kids gave a great effort. Last week, we didn't wrestle to our top against State College. We were kind of lethargic, really lazy. It was a lackadaisical performance. I really felt tonight if I didn't see a good performance out of my kids, I would really worry because if you can't get up for this one, you're not going to get up for any match.

The effort was there. I wasn't disappointed with the effort, the heart the kids had. It's hard to tell the kids we're happy with the loss (but) the kids did all they could tonight for the most part.

We should have been out of there in five. We just weren't focused and I was disappointed by the effort. We talked about how important it was to stay focused for games during the week and we just didn't get that kind of effort for whatever reason.

I think we gave a great effort (today). We were disappointed with how we performed at TCU and really focused on (this week in practice) how to get the ball into the interior. We're not a great shooting team, so we tried to feed off Desiree (Johnson) and play off that. I thought everybody did a great job trying to do what we wanted to do. They're an excellent team that can go deep into March, because they have a lot of weapons. I'll take this effort against anybody, anytime. Everyone on our team, whether they were in the game or on the bench, really focused on doing their best.

Everybody would like to bring the Osage thing to closure in a relatively fast way. We can't close Osage until we use the funds EPA granted us to use.

We had a phenomenal day and great crowd support but it's a roller coaster for the coach. You feel happy for one kid and want to cry for the next. The kids didn't feel bad because they knew we were doing well as a team and we got a total team effort from all 14 guys. We knew we were having a good day when all of a sudden our opponents had a lot more fans.

It's tough to be disappointed because we really had some kids overachieve. We had some other kids who didn't do as well as we had hoped. (Buchanan) just had some bigger guns than we did. Todd winning helps. As a coach, you are always happy when an individual does well.

Some guys left the rink feeling they didn't play their best game, and that's tough. It didn't happen. We didn't get in synch. All year we've had a tough time when we don't score the first goal. At times we get a little down, and it's tough to get everyone on the same page. We would have loved to get to the semifinals, so that's disappointing. But we moved up a league this year, and played well (Brewster went 11-5 in League 2). Four of our losses were by one goal. So overall, the kids shouldn't be disappointed. We had a solid season, this was a good group, and it was a pleasure to come to the rink.
