Humpy has tried to make it better ... but he shouldn't have tried to manipulate this racetrack in the first place. I don't know why it had to be more exciting for the fans than it was, because it was a great racetrack.

They looked at the racetrack and said, 'How can I manipulate this to make it more exciting?' ... That's what we dealt with in May, which was, in my opinion, not the right thing to do.

It's a great racetrack. This is the kind of racetrack we need. Tracks that are real wide and real easy to drive, somebody hits the setup.

You're talking to an old-timer here. I say if the race is too boring, stay home. That's not what Humpy would say. I don't own this racetrack; I'm not the one trying to fill the seats.

It was a good racetrack, a fun racetrack. You could move around on it. There was more than one groove on it.

They are not employees of our racetrack or any racetrack. The tracks provide the venue. The owners, the trainers, the jockeys and, of course, the horses provide the show.

This track is a challenge, that's best thing I can say about it, and drivers like challenges. I think I speak for all the drivers (in the IRL) when I say we can't wait to come out here. It's a great racetrack and the fans have also been great.

A driver that you have to sell on safety shouldn't be driving. I don't want to drive with somebody that's crazy enough to throw caution to the wind. These guys that drive out here are professionals and they understand the consequences of every action they make on the racetrack.

Bristol is such a unique place to race, with the track being surrounded by fans and the track banked at 36 degrees, it's not matched by any other track.

It's an important market to us; it's a great racetrack. When you make a change as dramatic as we made to condense the time frame in which we're going to run our events, it becomes a difficult thing from a flexibility standpoint.

I enjoy the times I go to the racetrack to see the horses, but yet I don't have to get up at 4:30 every morning of the week. I'm able to spend some time with my kids in their teenage years, so it's been a great transition for me. With the way the horses are running, it's been even better. Things have gone really well, so from that standpoint, everybody's happy. Kenny and Bill are real excited about the future. Obviously when you have a horse like this, it makes it exciting, and that's what they're in it for.

I think the racetrack has been a great outlet for folks who do want to race in a safe manner, rather than on the freeways.
